Live City has become a full-fledged sports league designed for the discerning basketball buff. Founded in 2003 under the umbrella of Global Professional Sports, the league boasts 70 teams in six age groups. Touted as the "premium" scrimmage-friendly league, LCBA has set the bar for youth sports based on fair play, quality of coaching, and overall enjoyment. The competition is stiff, but LCBA's high-spirited fans have a knack for snatching victories from the jaws of defeat. During the off-season, the players can enjoy various other sports and recreational activities, including several club-level basketball tournaments.

 

Designed for kids ages seven to seventeen, NYC Parks' Junior Knicks Basketball Clinics and League is the real deal. The competition is designed to give youth a structured environment to help them grow mentally and physically. The program will culminate in a Citywide Championship.

 

The program features several innovative activities and programs. In addition to a league, there are basketball clinics and instructional cycling classes to choose from. The program is free to participate in, and basketball courts are available to reserve.

 

The 'Ball For All, All' basketball tournament features more than 180 teams vying for the title of Citywide Champion. The event also connects the NYPD with New York City's youth. This initiative is a logical extension of the Department's commitment to creating more opportunities for young people, particularly in communities where sports are traditionally underserved.

 

The program is the byproduct of a $2 million investment from the City and the New York State Department of Social Services. It also received private support from the First Tee, The Venable Foundation, and the I. Weiner Charitable Foundation.
